by Karl Stieler (1842 - 1885)

Noch weisst du's nicht
Language: German (Deutsch)
Noch weißt du's nicht, daß ich dir fehle.
Doch einst, wenn über dich ergeht
Der Ostermorgen deiner Seele,
Wo deine Seele aufersteht:

Dann bricht wie Flammen in dein Leben
Der stumme Drang, erkannt zu sein!
Dann möchtest du die Flügel heben,
Dann fühlst du es: du bist allein.

Und tausend dunkle Fragen schweben
Dir vor. Wer wird mit tiefem Blick
Dann deiner Seele Antwort geben?
Wer wird erfüllen dein Geschick?

Confirmed with Hochland-Lieder von Karl Stieler, Stuttgart, Meyer & Zeller's Verlag (Friedrich Vogel), 1879, page 150.
