by Ricarda Octavia Huch (1864 - 1947)

Verstossen
Language: German (Deutsch)
Ich weiß, daß ich sterben muß
An deinem Lieben;
Du hast mich ins Elend getrieben
Mit deinem Kuß.

Ich irre verbannt, allein
Und ohne Frieden,
Seit ich von der Welt mich geschieden,
Um dein zu sein.

Nie werd ich mein Vaterland,
Das süße, schauen;
Nie wirst du den Heerd für uns bauen
Mit froher Hand.

Oft streckst du die Arme aus,
Wenn ich dir fehle.
So fern bin ich; nur meine Seele
Irrt um dein Haus.

Confirmed with Ricarda Octavia Huch, Gedichte, zweite vermehrte Auflage, Leipzig: H. Haessel Verlag, 1908, page 184.
