by Ferdinand von Saar (1833 - 1906)

Die Lilien
Language: German (Deutsch)
Seh' ich feuergelb und weiß
Schmücken euch des Sommers Fluren,
Wandelt meine Seele leis'
Auf der Schöpfung heil'gen Spuren.

Denn so wie in euch der Schnee,
Sanft erwarmend, sich gestaltet:
Ist in euch der Flamme Weh'
Auch zur Blume still erkaltet.

Und ich ahn' in tiefster Brust,
Wie die Kräfte sich durchdringen,
Und im All, hold unbewußt,
Gegensätze sich bezwingen!
