Rougit une petite fleur. 
La nonne påle et solitaire 
Admire en passant sa couleur. 

-- Hélas ! petite fleur, dit-elle, 
Comment sais-tu plaire au bon Dieu, 
Qui nous a mises, toi si belle
Et moi si triste, au même lieu ? 

La fleur lui dit : -- Tout est mystère.
Ne te plains pas ; ton sort vaut mieux :
Je suis une fleur de la terre,
Tu seras une fleur des cieux !
