C'est un faiseur de jolies choses,
Qui cueille des souvenirs charmants
Tout le long de la route, avec des roses, 
Des lilas et des muscats.
On dit : c'est un amuseur seulement...
Un ciseleur de vers délicats,
On dit tout cela, sans doute.

Mais sait-on si le potier songeant 
Qu'on voit penché sur son tour,
Avec le burin, les émaux et les vernis,
Ne s'attarde pas à orner avec amour
Sa précieuse coupe d'argent
Pour distraire son cœur d'une peine infinie ?
