De zonne rijst
Language: Dutch (Nederlands)
De zonne rijst,
't gaan balken lichts
dwers door den choor; ze malen
op wand en vloer
Gods heiligen, in
roô, blauwe en peersche stralen.

Hoe heerlijk is
de kerke nu,
en weerd het huis te wezen
van Hem, die als
de bronne wordt
van liefde en licht geprezen!

Van Hem die zon
en mane miek,
die kruid en loof liet groeien;
van Hem, dien wij,
vol schoonheid, in
elk blommeken zien bloeien.

Verrukkend is 't,
den wierookwalm,
in 't morgenvier der vensteren,
te volgen, op
zijn' hemelbaan,
doorlaaid van duizend gensteren!

Daar huivert, on-
weerstaanbaar, iets
in 's menschen merg en midden,
dat hemelwaards
de ziele haalt,
dat knielen doet en bidden!
