by Moritz Gottlieb Saphir (1795 - 1858)

Einen Tag nur in der Woche
Language: German (Deutsch)
Einen Tag nur in der Woche
Darf ich hoffen, sie zu sehen,
Dieser Tag kömmt glanzvoll, strahlend,
Alle Andern farblos gehen.

Eine Stund' in diesem Tage
Ist sie mir nicht ganz so ferne;
Dieser süßen Stund' zu Liebe
Harr' ich lange Tage gerne!

Zwei Minuten dieser Stunde
Sind gegönnt mir, ihr zu sagen
All' mein Denken, Fühlen, Sehnen,
Hoffen, Wünschen, Bangen, Klagen!

Und in diesen zwei Minuten
Hält Verstummen mick gebunden,
Ihr mein Herz zu offenbaren,
Voll von Dornen, Blut und Wunden.
