Kalla händer, varmt hjärta
Language: Swedish (Svenska)
Kalla händer, hjärtat varmt
har jag ofta funnit;
nära tårar, fjärran kval
uti avskedsstunden:
då min hand du tryckte sist,
hand med hand frös samman;
hjärtat, likväl ännog varmt,
löste dem i lågor.

Ännu känner jag din hand
kall i min sig hvila,
känner hjärtats heta brand
till mitt hjärta smyga;
kalla händer, hjärtat varmt,
ack! för mig bevara;
aldrig handen tryck på skämt,
att ej hjärtat kallnar!
