by Karl Joachim ("Achim") Friedrich Ludwig von Arnim (1781 - 1831)

Kalte Hände, warmes Herz
Language: German (Deutsch)
Kalte Hände, warmes Herz
hab' ich wohl empfunden,
nahe Tränen, fernen Schmerz,
in den Abschiedstunden,
in der Hände letztem Druck
froren sie zusammen,
doch das Herz war heiß genug,
löste sie in Flammen.

Kalt so fühl' ich deine Hand
noch in meiner liegen
und des Herzens heißen Brand
an mein Herz sich schmiegen.
Kalte Hände, warmes Herz
musst du mir erhalten;
keinem drück' die Hand zum Scherz,
dass nicht Herzen kalten.
