by Hermann Franke (1834 - 1919)

Vöglein, was singst du schon?
Language: German (Deutsch)
Vöglein, was singst du schon
fröhlich im Strauch?
Noch glüht der Morgen kaum,
noch ruht der Wald im Traum;
weckst ihn mit süßem Ton,
Vöglein - mich auch.

Folge, lieb Vögelein,
lieblichem Brauch:
Juble aus voller Brust
Lieder in Lenzeslust,
du kannst wohl glücklich sein,
Vöglein - ich auch.

Vöglein, dein süßer Sang
lässt mir nicht Ruh';
singen im schönen Mai
will ich so frisch und frei,
singen aus voller Brust,
Vöglein, wie du.
