The spirit of the Lord
Language: English
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me,
Because he hath anointed me
To preach good news to the poor;
He hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives
And recovering of sight to the blind.

He has sent me to announce the year of his grace,
And the day of his vengeance to comfort all who mourn.

Oh, I will greatly rejoice in the Lord,
my soul shall exalt in my God,
for he hath clothed me in the garments of salvation,
He has covered me with the robe of righteousness.

For as the earth bringeth forth her bud,
and as the garden causeth the things that are sown in it to spring forth.

So the Lord God will cause righteousness and praise
To spring up before all the nations
