Kuckuck
Language: German (Deutsch)
Im lieblichen Mai
Tönt Vögelgeschrei,
Süß trillert die Lerche in hoher Luft.
Durch einsame Büsche der Kuckuck ruft:
Kuckuck!

Es hüpfet im Mai
Die Felder vorbei
Das Mägdlein, entzückt von dem muntren Sang,
Der Wipfel zu Wipfel den Hain durchklang:
Kuckuck!

Mit Lachen sie sagt:
Es sei heut gewagt!
So sprich denn, Du närrischer Waldprophet,
Wie's mit mir um Leben und Sterben steht,
Kuckuck!

Das Vögelchen schon
Fliegt eilends davon
Und wendet bekümmert den klugen Blick,
Aus weiter Ferne erst klagt es zurück:
Kuckuck!
