 preßt an die Küste sein pochendes Herz,
 Blätter, sie murmeln, es zittert ihr Tauschmuck,
 Seewind umfängt mich in mutigem Scherz,
 Wetterhahn singt, und die Turmzinnern nicken,
 Burschen stolzieren mit flammenden Blicken,
 wogende Brust voll üppigen Lebens
 fesseln die blühenden Dirnen vergebens,
 Rosen, sie mühn sich, zu spähn in die Ferne,
 Fackeln, sie lodern und leuchten so gerne,
 Wald erschließt seinen Bann zur Stell',
 horch, in der Stadt nun Hundegebel!
 Und die steigenden Wogen der Treppe 
 Tragen zum Hafen den fürstlichen Held,
 bis er auf alleroberster Staffel
 mir in die offenen Arme fällt.

 i prem a la costa el seu cor bategant, 
 les fulles mormolen, llur ornament de rosada tremola,
 el vent del mar m'envolta amb animosa plagasitat,
 el gallet canta i els merlets de les torres capcinegen,
 els fadrins gallardegen amb fervent esguard
 i cors turbulents plens d'ufanosa vida,
 cerquen debades de captivar les noies florents,
 les roses s'afanyen a mirar al lluny,
 de grat cremen i resplendeixen les torxes,
 el bosc desclou el seu encant per l'indret,
 escolta, a la ciutat ara borden els gossos
 i les creixents onades de l'escala
 porten a port l'heroi principesc
 fins que arribi a l'esglaó més alt
 i caigui als meus braços oberts.
