Haar zang, die klinkt zo akelig,
Die klinkt zo wild, zo wenend,
Het hevig hunk'ren zucht en smacht,
Mijn schat, een hele goede nacht!
De dag komt snel, eer dan je dacht
Die trouwe liefde zegent!
