An Mignon

Language: German (Deutsch)

Über [Thal und Fluß]1 getragen,
Ziehet rein der Sonne Wagen.
Ach, sie regt in ihrem Lauf,
So wie deine, meine Schmerzen,
Tief im Herzen,
Immer morgens wieder auf.

Kaum will mir die Nacht noch frommen,
Denn die Träume selber kommen
Nun in trauriger Gestalt,
Und ich fühle dieser Schmerzen,
Still im Herzen,
Heimlich bildende Gewalt.

Schon seit manchen schönen Jahren
Seh' ich unten Schiffe fahren;
Jedes kommt an seinen Ort;
Aber ach, die steten Schmerzen,
Fest im Herzen,
Schwimmen nicht im Strome fort.

Schön in Kleidern muß ich kommen,
Aus dem Schrank sind sie genommen,
Weil es heute Festtag ist;
Niemand [ahnet]2, daß von Schmerzen
Herz im Herzen
Grimmig mir zerrissen ist.

Heimlich muß ich immer weinen,
Aber freundlich kann ich scheinen
Und sogar gesund und roth;
Wären tödtlich diese Schmerzen
Meinem Herzen,
Ach, schon lange wär ich todt.

A Mignon

Language: Catalan (Català) after the German (Deutsch)

Portat per damunt valls i rius,
passa diàfan el carro del sol.
Ai, en el seu trajecte desvetlla
tant la teva com la meva pena
al fons del cor,
sempre de nou cada matí.

Encara que amb prou feines la nit m’ajudi,
els somnis mateixos em venen
ara en un trist aspecte
i sento secretament
la força plasmadora d’aquesta pena
silenciosament al meu cor.

Des de fa molts anys esplèndids,
he vist aquí baix moltes naus singlar,
cadascuna arribava al seu lloc;
però ai, aquesta pena constant
fermada al cor,
no s’allunya surant en el riu.

Amb galdoses vestidures haig d’aparèixer,
tretes de l’armari,
car avui és dia de festa;
ningú pot sospitar que de pena
el meu cor feixuc
amb furor s’ha partit.

D’amagat haig de plorar sempre,
però puc semblar amable
i àdhuc sa i amb bon color;
si aquesta pena fos mortal
per al meu cor
faria temps que ja m’hagués mort.
