Ein Schäfer saß im Grünen

Language: German (Deutsch)

Ein Schäfer saß im Grünen,
  Sein Liebchen süß im Arm;
  Durch [Buchenwipfel]1 schienen
  Der Sonne Strahlen warm.
[Er kos'te]2 froh und heiter
  Von Liebeständeley.
  Da ritt bewehrt ein Reiter
  [Den]3 Glücklichen vorbey.
»Sitz' ab, und suche Kühle!«
  Rief ihm der Schäfer zu.
  »Des Mittags nahe Schwüle
  Gebiethet stille Ruh'.
Noch lacht im Morgenglanze
  So Strauch als Blume hier,
  Und Liebchen pflückt zum Kranze
  Die [frischen]4 Blüthen dir.«
Da sprach der finstre Reiter:
  »Nie [hielt]5 mich Wald und Flur.
  Mich treibt mein Schicksal weiter,
  Und ach, mein ernster Schwur!
Ich gab mein [frisches]6 Leben
  Dahin um schnöden Sold;
  Glück kann ich nicht erstreben,
  Nur höchstens Ruhm und Gold.
Drum schnell, mein Roß, und trabe
  Vorbey, wo Blumen blüh'n.
  Einst lohnt wohl Ruh' im Grabe
  Des Kämpfenden Bemüh'n.«

Un pastor seia damunt l’herba verda

Language: Catalan (Català) after the German (Deutsch)

Un pastor seia damunt l’herba verda,
la seva dolça estimada als braços;
a través les capçades dels faigs lluïen
càlids els raigs del sol.

Ell, content i joiós, gaudia
del flirteig amorós.
Aleshores, un cavaller armat passà
cavalcant per davant la feliç parella.

“Desmunta i cerca la fresca!”
Li cridà el pastor.
“S’acosta la xafogor del migdia
i s’imposa un repòs tranquil.

A l’esclat del matí encara somriuen
aquí els matolls i les flors,
i la meva estimada en collirà
per fer-te una garlanda.”

Llavors el sorrut cavaller digué:
“Els boscos i els camps mai m’han deturat.
El meu destí m’empeny sempre més lluny,
i, ai, també el meu solemne jurament!

He sacrificat la meva vida
per una vulgar soldada;
no puc aspirar a trobar la felicitat,
tot al més, la fama i l’or.

Així doncs, corser meu, trota de pressa,
enllà d’on creixen les flors.
Algun dia, a la tomba, la pau recompensarà
els afanys del guerrer.”
