Какими благами окружена
Еврейского сапожника жена.
И всей стране хочу поведать я,
Про радостный и светлый жребий мой:
Врачами, наши стали сыновья -
Звезда горит над нашей головой!

J'ai pris audacieusement le bras de mon mari,
bien que je sois vieille, et que mon cavalier soit vieux.
Je l'ai emmené au théâtre avec moi,
et nous avons pris deux billets pour le parterre.
Tard dans la nuit j'y suis restée avec mon homme,
toute transportée de joyeux rêves,-
Quelles bénédictions entourent
la femme d'un cordonnier juif.
Et je veux dire à tout le pays
que la joie et la lumière sont maintenant mon lot :
Docteurs, docteurs, nos fils sont devenus,-
une étoile brille au-dessus de nos têtes.
