by Alfred Mombert (1872 - 1942)

Das Meer
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  ENG
Ewig ewig ewig braust das Meer . . .

Und wir lagen in festverschlossenem Haus
lachend geschmiegt Brust an Brust,
dachten nicht mehr an das Meer,
das ewig ewig ewig braust.
Und lachend geschmiegt schliefen wir ein.
Da in der Nacht weckt mich das Weib
zitternd mit aufgerissenem Aug':
"Mann, Mann, siehst dudas Schiff,
das kämpfende Schiff auf brausendem Meer?"
Wir stoßen den Laden auf --
Das Meer . . .

Ewig ewig ewig braust das Meer.
