La Visitation divine 
Dont ils sont les miroirs lointains ;

Wenn du dein müdes Haupt
in deinen lichten Händen birgst,
mög’ meine Liebe dein Gebet erfüllen
und es erhören.

Wenn aus deinem bebenden Mund
das letzte Wort verhaucht
und sich zu einem sanften Lächeln mildert
aus Rosen und aus gold’nen Strahlen,

wenn deine Augen leuchten
und in dein bedrücktes Herz
das Göttliche einladen,
das sie fernher spiegeln,

dann findet deine stille Seele
Freud’ und Ruh,
wie einer schlummernden Fee in verschlossnem Garten
ihr süßer Wille ist beschieden.
