In meiner Brust;
Nun mischt sich Wehmut, ach! seit wir geschieden,
In jede Lust.

Der Trennung Stunde hör' ich immer hallen
So dumpf und hohl,
Mir tönt im Abendlied der Nachtigallen
Dein Lebewohl!

Wohin ich wandle, schwebt vor meinen Blicken
Dein holdes Bild,
Das mir mit banger Sehnsucht und Entzücken
Den Busen füllt.

Stets mahn' es flehend deine schöne Seele,
Was Liebe spricht:
,,Ach Freund! den ich aus einer Welt erwähle,
Vergiß mein nicht!``

Wenn sanft ein Lüftchen deine Locken kräuselt
Im Mondenlicht;
Das ist mein Geist, der flehend dich umsäuselt:
,,Vergiß mein nicht!``

Wirst du im Vollmondschein dich nach mir sehnen,
Wie Zephyrs Weh'n 
Wird dir's melodisch durch die Lüfte tönen:

A l’estimat llunyà

Antany, un dolç repòs i una pau daurada
residien al meu cor,
ara, ai!, des que ens varem separar, es barreja
la tristesa en cada goig.

L’hora de la separació la sento sempre retrunyir
tan buida i somorta;
en la cançó vespral del rossinyol, em ressona
el teu adéu!

Arreu on vaig, plana davant el meu esguard
la teva encisadora imatge
que, amb angoixant enyor i delícia,
m’omple el pit.

La teva formosa ànima reclama sempre suplicant
el que diu l’amor:
“Ai amic! El que d’un món he triat,
no m’oblidis!”

Quan lleugerament l’oreig arrufa els teus rínxols
en la claror de la lluna,
és el meu esperit que, suplicant, et xiuxiueja:
“No m’oblidis!”

Si mai en la claror de la lluna plena, t’enyores de mi,
com l’alenada del zèfir,
per l’aire melodiosament et ressonarà:
“A reveure!”
