Griderà poi per me la morte ancora.

In van dunque, o crudele,
vuoi che'l mio duol e'l tuo rigor si cele,
poi che mia cruda sorte
dà la voce al silenzio ed a la morte.

werden Tränen, werden Seufzer
künden meinen Schmerz.
Falls mich der Tod ereilt,
wird er in meinem Namen heulen.

Umsonst deshalb, Grausame,
wünschst du, dass meine Pein und deine Strenge sich verbergen,
da mein grausames Schicksal
der Stille und dem Tod Sprache verleiht.
