Madonna over Bølgerne
Language: Danish (Dansk)
Our translations:  DUT GER
Hil dig, du lys over havet,
tindrende blus på den skummende, stenede strand!
Hil dig, de ængstedes frelse,
der lindrende åbner din favn for hver skibbruden mand.
Du, som på revet omkring Opatija
sprang som et under af fjeldblokken ud,
o hil dig, mysteriets dronning Maria,
sjælenes moder, søster og brud!

Her, hvor min jordiske længsel forstummede,
daler et hjerte, som du kun gør glad,
her ned for din snehvide,
bølgeomskummede jomfrufod
tyst som et faldende blad.
Du ungmø, lillie, gratiæ via,
elskov evindelig pletfri og prud,
o hil dig, mysteriets dronning Maria,
sjælenes moder, søster og brud!
Hil dig!

Madonna über den Wogen
Language: German (Deutsch)  after the Danish (Dansk)
Sei gegrüßt, Licht überm Meer,
Leuchturm über Gischt und Felsenstrand!
Sei gegrüßt, Erretterin aus Angst und Not,
die tröstend alle Schiffbrüchigen umfängt.
Am Riff um Opatija
tauchtest wundersam du aus den Felsen auf,
sei gegrüßt, Königin des Mysteriums, Maria,
der Seelen Mutter, Schwester und Braut!

Hier, wo mein irdisch Sehnen schwand,
sinkt ein Herz, das nur du erquicken kannst,
nieder zu der Jungfrau schneeweißen,
wellenumschäumten Füßen
wie ein fallendes Blatt.
Du Jungfrau, Lilie, gratiæ via*,
Liebe, ewiglich makellos und hehr,
sei gegrüßt, Königin des Mysteriums, Maria,
der Seelen Mutter, Schwester und Braut!
Sei gegrüßt!

* Gnadenweg
