Tak mne kouzlem ondy jala tam v besídce ružové, že se téměř ruznem dala pamět má i smyslové. Slova stíhám řeči matu posléz a co davno znám, opět milém u záchvatu či mne miluje se ptám. Nevím, růže zavzdychnuly, čili rtové pošeptnuly pnouce k mým se ústům bliž, třikrát slad'ounké: "Ty viš!"

Nichts von dem was du gesprochen damals mir im Ohre blieb, drum aufs neu holdselger Scheu Frug ich dich: "Hast du mich lieb?" Weiss nicht thatens die Rose mir kund oder sprach's dein blühender Mund leis zu mir in sanfter Glut süssen Hauchs: "ich bin dir gut!"
