Plus un chant d'oiseau, le ciel agonise,
Et voici venir l'hiver bien heureux.

Ô ma bien aimée, écoutons chanter,
Chanter à mi-voix la flamme joyeuse,
Laissons s'écouler cette heure berceuse,
Sans que nul désir la vienne hâter.

Qu'importe la veille ou le lendemain,
Au moment présent, bornons notre envie.
N'est-ce pas l'objet de toute la vie
De rêver ainsi la main dans la main ?
