Es leuchten die Sterne,
sie grüßen klar
aus himmlischer Ferne.
Geheimnisvoll
durch Palmen es rauschet,
in liebender Wacht
die Erde lauschet.
Ob auch verblüht
die Blümlein liegen,
es möchte ihr Duft
die Starre besiegen.
Frohlocke, Welt,
dem Tod entwunden
hast du in Christ
das Leben gefunden.

The stars shine,
With clarity they greet us
From heavenly remoteness.
There is a mysterious
Soughing in the palms,
In loving watchfulness
The world harkens.
Though the flowers
Lie wilted,
Their scent wishes 
To conquer the rigour.
Rejoice, world,
Wrested from death,
You have found
Life in Christ.
