Fuglekvidder
Language: Danish (Dansk)
Kvivit, Kvivit!
I Bøgenes Skygge
vi Smaafugle bygge
og kvidre saa glad;
med Sol er vi oppe,
med Solen vi hoppe
fra Blad og til Blad;
og trøstig vi synge,
mens Vindene gynge
vor luftige Stad.

Kvivit, Kvivit!
o kom Du, som vanker
i sorgfulde Tanker
vor Glæde saa nær!
Og bort skal vi sjunge
det Mørke, det Tunge,
og Sukkenes Hær!
forsøde din Slummer
og løfte din Kummer,
saa smaa som vi er.

Kvivit, Kvivit!
Ja, er Du bedrøvet,
saa kom under Løvet
og luk ej dit Bryst!
Thi Skoven har Hjerte
for Menneskers Smerte!
og Skoven har Trøst!
Den kvæger og svaler,
og dulmende taler
Smaafuglenes Røst.
