Die Dämmerung spinnt die Seide ein,
Aus dunkelblauem Abendhimmel
Hör ich die wandernden Kraniche schrei'n.

Sie schrei'n so wild, so heiß, so hungrig
Nach ihrer Heimat weit von hier,
So schreit meine Seele hungrig und bange,
Bist du nicht bei mir, immer nach dir.
