No one should deal with love; love has already cost many an honest fellow his life. Just recently my Trudy has betrayed my love, but I've sued her! I had taken my Trudy into my heart, and she had said she wouldn't let go of me. But the devil must have incited Mayor's Jack, and he invited her to a dance. That's how it goes when you let your girl go to a dance: You must always worry she might fall in love with another fellow. Such girls are bad! Now neither food nor drink will taste good to me, and whenever I go to work, I'd rather sink into the ground, but should I say that I don't love her, it would be a lie. When I'm dead, then let me be buried and let six boards get planed by the carpenter and let be painted on them two fiery hearts; I can well afford it.
