Выглянь, милая соседка,
В окна комнаты своей!
Душит запертая клетка
Птичку вольную полей.

Выглянь! Солнце, потухая,
Лик твой ясный озарит
И угаснет, оживляя
Алый блеск твоих ланит.

Выглянь! глазками легонько
Или пальчиком грозя,
Где ревнивец твой, тихонько
Дай мне знать, краса моя!

О, как много б при свиданье
Я хотел тебе сказать;
Слышать вновь твое признанье
И ревнивца поругать…

Чу! твой голос! песни звуки…
И гитары тихий звон…
Усыпляй его, баюкай…
Тише… что?.. заснул уж он?

Ты в мантилье, в маске черной
Промелькнула пред окном;
Слышу, с лестницы проворно
Застучала башмачком…
