from Volkslieder (Folksongs)

Ťažko tomu sokolovi
Language: Slovak (Slovenčina)
Ťažko tomu sokolovi,
pod vodou plávati,
ešte ťažšie, šuhajovi,
dievča milovati.
Keď ho ono nechce,
len s druhými šepce,
svojho potupuje,
druhému sľubuje,
spravedlivé srdce.

A tak idú naše časy,
s hodinami rovno,
keď nám smrť sviečku zahasí,
bude nám spokojno.
A tak bude ameň,
keď zavalia kameň,
na tie naše kosti,
duša do radosti,
pôjde na examen.
