Auf dem See

Zu lindern mählich unser lodernd Weh,
komm, laß uns rudern auf dem stillen See!
Im Wasserspiegel lebt geheime Kraft,
die Wellenfrau hält dich in sanfter Haft.
Schau tief hinein ins dunkelgrüne Auge,
traumlos Vergessen aus der Tiefe sauge!
Das heiße Pech des Schicksals träuft hinab
ins Wogengrab.
Die Flut verglänzt, die Gondel schaukelt sacht,
so laß uns gleiten in den Arm der Nacht!
Die glühende Schläfe kühlt ein Hauch gelind,
auf müden Schwingen schwebt der Abendwind.
