Abenamars unglückliche Liebe

In den Garten Almeria 
Lieget da Mohr Abenamar, 
Sein Gesicht gekehrt zum Palast 
Seiner Mohrin Galiana.

Statt des Kissens sein Albornos, 
Seine Tartsche statt des Teppichs,
Seine Lanze längs dem Boden; 
Viel ist's, daß so liegt die Lanze. 

Um den Sattelknopf geworfen 
Hängt der Zaum; hinangeschlungen 
Mit der Trense zwisden zweien 
Linden geht sein Pferd und graset. 

Er betrachtet eine blüh'nde 
Mandel: traurig hangt die Blüthe, 
Ist versengt vom scharfen Nordwind, 
Der die Blüthen alle tödtet.
