Savoyarddrengens Sang

Jeg danser og drejer på min lire så fro,
og min lådne ven går på fire og på to;
men ej kan jeg glemme
de bjerge derhjemme
og køerne, som kendte min stemme.

Og tit må jeg holde mit øje på klem,
at ikke jeg skal synge mig tårerne frem;
thi hvor kan jeg smile,
og hvor kan jeg hvile,
når jeg tænker på de tusinde mile!

O, vinder jeg tilbage bag bjergene blå,
hvor sødt, hvor sødt skal jeg sove på strå,
og juble og tralle; —
men skulle det falde,
Gud ved om jeg så finder dem alle!
