by Otto Inkermann (1823 - 1862), as C. O. Sternau

Der Jäger und sein Lieb
Language: German (Deutsch)
Horch! Lustiger Hörnerklang,
trara,
rauscht fröhlich den Wald entlang:
Trara!
Der Jäger, der holt seine schmucke Braut,
im Kirchlein werden sie drüber getraut,
trara!

Du Jäger mit deinem Lieb,
hab acht!
Ob's immer auch treu dir blieb,
hab acht!
Die Liebe, die Lieb' ist [leicht]1 wie der Wind
und fliegt [mit den]2 Wolken davon geschwind,
hab acht!

Nun hole dein Lieb zur Trau',
hurra!
Nun nimm dir dein Mädel zur Frau,
hurra!
Nun führe sie selig zum Dorf hinaus
und kränze mit Rosen dein Jägerhaus,
hurra!
