by Johan Sebastian Cammermeyer Welhaven (1807 - 1873)

Aftenstemning
Language: Norwegian (Bokmål)
Når en stille, solklar dag
helder mildt og svinder,
mens i hjemmets velbehag
skumrings-tiden rinder,
da kan hjertet blidest slå,
og dets ømme tanker gå
som en rolig flod, hvorpå
aftenrøden skinner.

Sidder jeg da uden ord,
tabt i søde minder,
ved du dog, min elskte hvor
tanken os forbinder:
I dit hjerte og i mit,
på en vår, der spirer frit,
på et håb, der vinker blidt,
mindets afglans skinner.

Vejer jeg hvert savn, som du
kærligt overvinder, --
ser jeg i det stille nu
smil på dine kinder,
sukker jeg vemodig-glad:
Ak, hvor sødt at følges ad,
til på fagre dages rad
livets aften skinner!
