Beneath sparse green leaves, beneath flowers, beneath blossoms I hear the blackbird blaring out its song in the distance and the [madcap]1 thrush rioting. Also a ringing, fine and soft, of the [rapid]2 greetings of rapid days, a woeful summer melody, laden with a final sweetness. And a glowing conflagration hovers upon hot waves of wind; tottering, I believe I can recognize the shrilling of unscreamed screams. And I sit still and tremble, feel my hours flowing away; and I hold still and live, the while dreams spin a web around me.
