by Detlev von Liliencron (1844 - 1909)

Ach, jung...
Language: German (Deutsch)
War der schönste Sommermorgen,
War der Wald so grün und jung.
Unsre Herzen, ohne Sorgen,
Hatten frischen, frohen Schwung.

Brombeerstrauch und wilde Nüsse
Hatten sicher uns umlaubt,
Denn es waren unsre Küsse
Gott sei Dank! noch nicht erlaubt.

Eichkatz sprang von Ast zu Ästen,
Doch im Wandern hielt es Ruh,
Sah den beiden Sommergästen,
Ganz erstaunt uns beiden zu.

Weiter, und die Blätter schwangen,
Floh der kleine Vagabund,
Ihren Prinzen hielt gefangen
Die Prinzeß von Trapezunt.

Confirmed with Detlev von Liliencron, Gesammelte Gedichte, dritter Band (zweite und vermehrte Auflage der Neuen Gedichte, Berlin und Leipzig: Schuster & Loeffler, 1900, page 203. Appears in Neues.
