Reisekunst

Wandern ohne Ziel ist Jugendlust,
Mit der Jugend ist sie mir erblichen;
Seither bin ich nur vom Ort gewichen,
War ein Ziel und Wille mir bewußt.

Doch dem Blick, der nur das Ziel erfliegt,
Bleibt des Wanderns Süße ungenossen,
Wald und Strom und aller Glanz verschlossen,
Der an allen Wegen wartend liegt.

Weiter muß ich nun das Wandern lernen,
Daß des Augenblicks unschuldiger Schein
Nicht erblasse vor ersehnten Sternen.

Das ist Reisekunst: im Weltenreihn
Mitzufliehn und nach geliebten Fernen
Auch im Rasten unterwegs zu sein.

L’art de viatjar

Rodar món sense destinació és el goig de la joventut,
passada la joventut, m’ha anat de mancada;
des d’aleshores, només he canviat de lloc
quan era conscient d’una destinació i un propòsit.

Però l’esguard que només visa la destinació,
resta sense gaudir del plaer de viatjar,
reclosos resten boscos i rius i tota  l’esplendor
que roman esperant en tots els camins.

Ara, haig de continuar aprenent a viatjar,
perquè l’innocent esclat de l’instant
no empal·lideixi davant estrelles cobejades.

Això és l’art de viatjar: enfugir-se
en els rangs del món i vers estimades llunyanies,
estar de camí, també en les parades.
