Oiseaux dans les cieux, petit ruisseau, si vous pouvez voir ma bien-aimée, transmettez-lui mille fois mon souvenir! Et vous, nuages, si ensuite vous la voyez marcher d'un air rêveur dans la tranquille vallée, évoquez vite mon image dans l'éther! Si elle se tient près des buissons qui maintenant en automne sont décolorés et sans feuilles, petits oiseaux, contez-lui ce qui m'est arrivé, contez-lui ma peine! Calmes vents d'ouest, portez à l'élue de mon coeur mes soupirs, qui s'éteignent comme le dernier rayon du soleil. Petit ruisseau, chuchote-lui ma plainte amoureuse, montre-lui fidèlement mes larmes innombrables.
