Ich trinke sinnbetörend Glück
Aus Deiner Lippen Glut!
Du hast an Deinen Schoss gebannt
Mir Seel' und Leib und Blut.
Ich bin dir völlig untertan,
Ein Bettler Dir am Tor,

My arms blissfully close around
The fervent splendour of your limbs.
Intoxicated, I step into the land
Of the goddess Venus
And, holding your hand, I enter
Into her roundelay of love.

From the ardour of your lips
I imbibe happiness that beguiles my senses.
With enchantment you have bound 
My soul and body and blood to your lap.
I am completely subservient to you,
A beggar at your gate,
A blissful man, intoxicated by love,
Whom your favour has chosen.
