Die alte Schwyzer
Language: Swiss German (Schwizerdütsch)
Wer sind die alte Schwyzer gsy,
Die fromme Heldeväter?
E röischi, wildi Kumpäny,
Voll Füür u. Blitz sind's druf u dri
Äs wien äs glades Wätter.

Was sind die alte Schwyzer gsy?
Sä zäch wie buechi Chnebel,
Verschlosse wien ä Opferbüchs,
Durtribe wien äs Näscht voll Füchs
Und gschliffe wie nü Sebel.

Wie sind die alte Schwyzer gsy?
Schier gar wie hüt die junge.
Blöiß d'Stubeli sind nid'rer gsy,
Si hend si bucke müeße dri,
Vorusse, wer hett's zwunge?

Wie sind die alte Schwyzer gsy?
Voll Gschpäss und Lumperye.
Siä giltmerglych und fry wie Schoiff.
Im Liebe blind, im Hasse teuff,
Und langsam im Verzyhe.
