Regennacht
Language: German (Deutsch)
Leise tropft die Regennacht
nieder auf harte Steine:
'S ist ein Traum, der mit mir wacht;
weine nur, Regen, weine!

Nur des Wächters schwerer Schritt
leise durchhallt die Gassen,
langsam geht er die Stunden mit;
ach, wie bin ich verlassen!

Gäb' es ein Aug', an dessen Glut
eig'ne Glut ich entzünde!
Gäb' es ein Aug', in dessen Mut
Mut und Leben ich finde!

Hättest du früh dein Glück bedacht,
weine nur, Regen, weine!
Tröpfle nur all dein Leid so sacht
nieder auf kalte Steine.
