Die Wellen schimmern, das Wasser zieht, Von ferne klinget des Schiffers Lied. Es trägt zum Ufer der laue Wind Die Töne, bis sie verschwommen sind. Die Nebel steigen, die Möve ruft, Am Weidensaume her zieht der Duft. Vom Himmel nieder schauet kein Stern, Dunkele Wolken ziehen von fern. Am Ufer wand'l ich in stiller Nacht. Du bist's, an die ich wieder gedacht!
