海寒多天风，
白波连山倒蓬壶。
长鲸喷涌不可涉，
抚心茫茫泪如珠。
西来青鸟东飞去，
愿寄一书谢麻姑。

Sehnsucht

Ich denk' an eine Genienmaid,
Die wohnt wohl überm blauen Meer
Im Osten weltenweit.
Das Meer ist kalt, die Himmelswinde stürmen,
Pung-Lei ragt aus den weißen Wellen,
Die bergeshoch sich türmen.
Der alte Drache braust und droht,
Kein Schiff kann sicher sich wähnen.
Ich lege die Hand auf mein klopfend Herz
Und weine Perlentränen.
Von Ost her zieht nach Westen hin
Ein Vogel mit blauen Schwingen;
Dem gebe ich ein Brieflein mit,
Das mög' er Maku bringen.
