Schneeglöckchen

Die Sonne sah die Erde an,
Es ging ein milder Wind,
Und plötzlich stand Schneeglöckchen da,
Das fremde blasse Kind.

Und plötzlich brach mit Pomp und Braus
Der alte Winter auf,
Die Wolken eilten pfeilgeschwind
Zum dunklen Nord hinauf.

Eisscholle lief, Schneeflocke schmolz,
Die Stürme heulten drein,
Schneeglöckchen stand gesenkten Haupts
In dem Gewühl allein.

Ei komm! Du weißes Schwesterlein,
Wie lange willst du stehn?
Der Winter ruft, das Reich ist aus,
Wir müssen nach Hause gehn!

Und was nur rings auf Erden trägt
Die weiße Liverei,
Das schürze sich, das tummle sich
Zur Abfahrt schnell herbei!

Schneeglöckchen sah sich bebend an
Und dachte halb im Traum:
»Was soll um Winters Liverei
Der grüne, grüne Saum?

Wob ihn wohl um das weiße Kleid
Des Winters rauhe Hand?
Wo komm' ich her? wo geh' ich hin?
Wo ist mein Vaterland?«

El lliri de neu

El sol esguardà la terra,
bufà un vent temperat,
i de sobte, aparegué el lliri de neu,
l’estrany, pàl·lid infant.

I tot d’una, amb pompa i rebombori,
el vell hivern se’n anà,
els núvols s’apressaren rabents, com fletxes,
vers l’ombrívol nord.

Les pannes de gel gotejaven, els flocs de neu es fonien,
en això, les tempestes bramulaven,
el lliri de neu restava amb el cap cot,
tot sol, enmig del tumult.

Ei, vine, tu blanca germaneta,
quan de temps vols romandre?
L’hivern proclama la fi del seu regnat,
hem d’anar a casa!

I tot el que arreu a la terra
porta la blanca lliurea,
s’ha d’atrossar, s’ha d’afanyar,
per marxar de pressa!

El lliri de neu es contemplà tremolant
i pensà mig en somnis:
“Per què la lliurea de l’hivern
té una orla verda, verda?

Potser l’ha teixit la tosca mà de l’hivern
al voltant del blanc vestit?
D’on he vingut? On vaig?
On és la meva terra natal?”
