by Albert Verwey (1865 - 1937)

Het lichtfeest
Language: Dutch (Nederlands)
Zing dan, zang, en roep hem
Luid naar 't aardefeest.
Wij zijn tal van dagen
In 't licht en saamgeweest.

Wij zullen tal van dagen
Saamzijn in het licht,
Of ook mijn lijf als 't zijne
Zijn arbeid heeft verricht.

Ook als mijn lijf als 't zijne
Onder de zoden rust,
Roept ons de zang naar 't feestlicht,
Dat nooit wordt uitgeblust.

Confirmed with Albert Verwey, Het lachende raadsel, Uitgeverij vh. C.A. Mees, Santpoort 1935 p.58
