og siste Straalarne i Lauvet spelar.
No stiger Röyken fredfullt upp fraa Husi,
og Livsens travle Ljomen tryt og tagnar.

No sveiper Bergi seg i kveldblaa Kaapa,
og Natelufti lind um kinnet smiler.
No hastar alle heim til fredsœl kvila,
og vidt um Verdi er det Smil og Kvisk ring 
av unge, fegne Par, som sœle femnest, 
og Hjarta slœr mot Hjarta sött i Elskhug.

Maintenant le soleil descend

Maintenant, le soleil descend derrière  Bjørkeåsen
et les derniers rayons jouent dans les feuillages.
Maintenant, la fumée monte paisiblement des maisons
et le brouhaha de la vie cesse et fait silence.

Maintenant les montagnes s’enveloppent dans le manteau bleu du soir
et la brise nocturne caresse doucement les joues.
Maintenant chacun se presse de rentrer pour un repos paisible,
et partout dans le monde il y a les sourires et chuchotements,
des jeunes et joyeux couples qui se rejoignent dans la félicité,
tandis qu’avec amour les cœurs battent tendrement à l’unisson.
