kämm‘ ich mein goldenes Haar,
schön schön Rautendelein!
Die Vögel reisen, die Nebel ziehn,
die Haidefeuer verlassen glühn …

Mir ist so weh!
zu eng mein Kleid.
Ich arme, verwunschne Brunnenmaid.

Im hellen Monde kämm ich mein Haar
und denke deß, der mein Buhle einst war.
Die Glockenblumen läuten.
Läuten sie Glück? läuten sie Qual?
Beides zumal,
dünkt mich, soll es bedeuten. -
Hinab! hinab - die Zeit ist um -
in Wasser und Tang!
