Wenn's Kind alles haben will
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  ENG
Keine Rast, keine Ruh',
Schöne Kleider, schöne Schuh'!
Aber wozu?
Nichts kriegt, wer alles haben will;

When a child wants to have everything
Language: English  after the German (Deutsch)
When I see apples, I would like to have them,
When I see turnips I would like to peel them,
When I see nuts with fat cheeks,
I would like to bite them, would like to crack them!
No rest, no peace,
Nice clothes, nice shoes,
But what for?
Those who want everything get nothing;
Only those who are modest and quiet
Shall receive enough and to spare!
