Stilles Glück

Quiet happiness
Language: English  after the German (Deutsch)
Among the wheat-ears, among the clover [are]
Scented flowers wherever I look!
Thus, when I labour from morning till night
Faithfully for my family, concerned for the dear ones,
Caring and hoping in loving joy,
Flowers of modest pleasure bloom for me
Among the wheat-ears, among the clover.
Among the wheat-ears, among the clover [is]
The singing of larks, wherever I may be!
Thus with the happiness that smilingly surrounds me,
That I built for myself, lovingly loved,
The grateful compulsion of my heart is loosened,
Happily it echoes what the lark sang to me
Among the wheat-ears, among the clover.
